Just words, no works - people can't establish their word, yet they believe the lie, because they say they have works too.
Don't be feeling too diddled - they did say they had works, it's just that eventually you couldn't establish it - the one witness was exposed as false because it cannot be both true and supported by good works - these witnesses don't agree.
Bang, I remembered reading a book by Louis Nizer titled, 'My Life In Court' where 20 witnesses fingered his client. He thought his client was cooked until one morning on the front page of a newspaper there was a picture of what he thought was his client, but it was his DOUBLE! 20 witnesses testifying againist his client and they were all wrong. Now, I have to locate that book.
