    Nonviolence

"Nonviolence should never be used as a shield for cowardice. It is a weapon for the brave."

"I see neither bravery nor sacrifice in destroying life or roperty for offense or defense."

"The force generated by nonviolence is infinitely greater than the force of all the arms invented by man's ingenuity."

"Disobedience to be civil has to be open and nonviolent."

"Nonviolence succeeds only when we have a real living faith in God."

"Nonviolence implies voluntary submission to the penalty for non-cooperation with evil."

    Peace

"As soon as the spirit of exploitation is gone, armaments will be felt as a positive unbearable burden. Real disarmament cannot come unless the nations of the world cease to exploit one another."

"If the mad race for armaments continues, it is bound to result in a slaughter such as has never occurred in history. If there is a victory left, the very victory will be living death for the nation that emerges victorious."

    Cooperation

"In my humble opinion, non-cooperation with evil is as much a duty as is cooperation with good."

"In mass civil resistance, leadership is essential; in individual civil resistance, ever resister is his own leader."

    Daily life

"To call woman the weaker sex is libel; it is man's injustice to women."

"Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from indomitable will."

From: The Words of Ghandi, selected by Richard Attenborough, Newmarket Press, New York, 1982.

Exactly the feelings I have towards the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and all of it's affiliates.
