I couldn't believe my eyes. In our local paper in the Faith section along with
all Satan's organizations, "Jehovah's Witnesses to open conventions". A first
in our paper. There is no admission, but we do have ATM machines.

Technically, JW conventions have always been open to the public.
James - I'm not so sure this is as unusual as you suggest. When religious groups provide local newspapers with press releases on upcoming events as public notices, the editor chooses their exact placement in the paper. So it's not as if the elder in charge of press releases stipulates their placement in the religious or "faith" section.
BTW, did the convention news item include reference to seats free but ATMs included? I suspect you were being humorous - but just checking.
steve2 - "...ATMs included? I suspect you were being humorous..."
No, he wasn't.
They do that now.
I have never seen it in our local news paper. Yes the AtMa wasn't included in the
press releases.
But I'm sure the theme had something to do with it "Imitate Jesus". Folks don't have any idea about JW stand on Jesus. I have been ask do they believe in Jesus?
