Has anyone heard of a JW retreat being built in Maine on an island? I received this email:
I am a Christian minister living on a small island off from Maine callled Swan's Island, Maine. We have found out last evening at church that the J.W.'s are building a 3 million dollar retreat center on our small island. Do you have any information about this? Our island people are very upset about this. Thanks and God Bless. Pastor Ken

Here's the municipal contact for Swan's Island.
The Hawaiian one is called an "educational" center. The place in Maine may be a real "retreat" of some sort. Who knows more?

It may just be an assembly hall.

Hi Randy,
I live in southern Maine. Swan's Island is a 40 minute ferry ride out of Bass Harbor. It's not near any good sized city in Maine (Not that we have that many, anyway.) :)
I can't imagine that they would be putting an assembly hall out there. Please keep us informed of any additional information you have on this. I make take a ride up there in the near future. Any excuse for a good motorcycle ride.
