I think I've mentioned before that I collect miniature liquor bottles. I've only been collecting for a couple of years, but have found a few gems. One is a miniature Hedges & Butler Vat 250Scotch full and sealed with an Illinois tax stamp dated 1936. The other is a Haig & Haig Blended Scots Whisky in the "pinch" ("dimple" I think the Brits call it) style bottle with a twist-wire top. Full and sealed and with a 1939 Maryland tax stamp.
But here's why I'm asking for bottle experts. My latest addition is a Straight American Bourbon made by Juarez Whiskeys in Mexico. It is a corked bottle with a metal tear-off cap. Only 2/3 full due to evaporation, but in excellent condition. I'm just curious if this is a Prohibition-era bottle since there is no BATF tax seal or any state tax stamp and there are two copyright dates on the bottle, the latest being 1932.
And here's a pic:
I'll post some pics of a few other bottles sometime if anyone's interested.
Mike.
p.s. No, I don't drink them.
