    Six Jehovah's Witnesses were kidnapped by rebels while selling Avon cosmetics in a remote Philippine village. Police officers found no evidence they were trying to promote their religion in the predominantly Muslim area.

    I have to say that even though their religion has caused me grief, I cried when I read this story. I wouldn't wish this terror on anyone.

    I'm with you writerpen. I think this is horrifying and very sad. I hope they get out safe. Thanks for the post Rado. There is another thread on this same subject here: < http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=35069&page=1&site=3#469822>;

    <snip>:"...spokesman at the company's New York headquarters, Victor Beaudet, said the abductees were not employees or official Avon representatives."

    If this is indeed the case (fact), why is television news reporting that they were IN FACT, Avon representatives, and NOT the FACT (case) that they ARE Jehovah's Witnesses, NOT Avon reps, as stated by New York headquarters? Wait, which 'NYH' are they speaking of here?

    I can here them now: "persecution, persecution! So we harbor and protect pedophiles...we are being persecuted by terrorists". Wait, isn't the cult a terrorist camp of sorts in it's own right?

    Isn't it ironic, doncha think? A little too ironic, I really do think.

    While I agree that stuff like this is horrible what did they really expect? Some idiots go into an area that they know won't be hospitable to them and start going around to people's houses in an attempt to push something off on people that they know are violently opposed to. Sure, I think its bad that it happened but you really can't be too suprised about it.

    The identities of the abducted are Nori Bendijo, Cleofe Bantolo, Flora Bantolo, Lurimil Bantolo, Lionel Mantic and Emily Mantic...Bendijo had stayed in Bolo for 20 years and the others were residents of nearby Zamboanga City. They apparently are all Filipino. More details at:

    What many people don't understand is,if the story came out in newsprint through the Watchtower,I ignore the story completely.The Watchtower,as sad as it maybe,love to martyr people all the time.It matters not who they are or why they are there..as long as the Watchtower can get away with saying,"It's a Jehovah Witness,"they will do it.

    Let's say there's crunchy peanut butter and smooth peanut butter.I like crunchy...the other likes creamy.So the other guy says I persecute him because I don't like creamy peanut butter.Yet my opinion of peanut butter is not persecution no more then knowing the difference between the Watchtower and having faith on Christ.

    Because of my opinion on the Watchtower is different then the opinions of Jehovah Witnesses I'm accused of persecuting those poor Witnesses.Great real people...Why even Russell says that it's not persecution.

    Besides,the Watchtower wants you to put faith in it's org. not Christ.

    He does not impart his holy spirit and an understanding and appreciation of his Word apart from his visible organization.

    *** w67 10/1 587 Finding Freedom with Jehovah's Visible Organization ***

    Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovahs visible organization in mind.

    We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the faithful and discreet slave organization.

    They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such Bible reading, they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendoms clergy were teaching 100 years ago, and some have even returned to celebrating Christendoms festivals again, such as the Roman Saturnalia of December 25! Jesus and his apostles warned against such lawless ones.

    I just called someone who used to live in the Philippines. She said that that area is known by locals to be dangerous.
