Here is a sample of today's devotion:
Sorry it was late, I had to work today.
"He passed in front of Moses and said, "I am the LORD, I am the LORD,
the merciful and gracious God. I am slow to anger and rich in
unfailing love and faithfulness. I show this unfailing love to many
thousands by forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. Even so I do
not leave sin unpunished, but I punish the children for the sins of
their parents to the third and fourth generations." Moses
immediately fell to the ground and worshiped. And he said, "If it is
true that I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, then please go
with us. Yes, this is an unruly and stubborn people, but please
pardon our iniquity and our sins. Accept us as your own special
possession." Exodus 34:6-9.
WE as former Jehovah's Witnesses were very stubborn when it came
towards our view of the Watchtower and its leadership. We supported
them in many cases even if it defied both common sense and Biblical
truth. We follow them and no one could have told us any different.
Can you remember the times where you would obey the Organization
until the "New System," came or until death?
Jehovah's Witnesses are no different than the Israelites of Moses
day. They are still human and Israel even after leaving Egypt still
worships the Idols and False Gods of Egypt. Jehovah's Witnesses
worship the Watchtower Organization and Idolized the leadership.
Like Aaron who when pressured by the Nation of Israel did make an
idol of God of Baal. Many Jehovah's Witnesses, who are sincere in
loving God like Aaron, also make an idol of the Watchtower even if
they know it goes against Biblical Truth and common sense.
Many Jehovah's Witness parents have sacrificed their children at the
altar of the Watchtower by allowing the Organization to pressure to
make decisions which would lovingly protect their children. Who
would allow a child to die by refusing them a live saving blood
transfusion? How many would sacrifice their children like
Silentlambs at the altar of the almighty Watchtower by allowing the
fear of disfellowshipping out weight the rights of their children?
Is it worth seeing your child die due to the lack of blood? Is it
worth torturing and tormenting the child with the fact his molester
rights are more important than the child's?
Deep inside, we began to see our acts of idolatry. Many of us are
like Aaron when Moses confronted him with the making of the Idol,
just excuse our bad decision by saying, "The Watchtower said we were
obeying Jehovah." Do we excuse ourselves from any responsibility for
our decision when were we Jehovah's Witnesses or do we repent?
Jehovah understand why we do what we do, but will not allow us to
even use him as an excuse.
We can accept his Son Jesus and he will forgive us. If we read the
Bible with out the Watchtower, we can see he does not require us to
do things which are only common sense.
Today, he has shown us, the former Jehovah's Witness great mercy and
today goes ahead of us.
If you like it join up.
