Latest WTS publications CD???

I'm interested in obtaining one of the latest - 2002? 2001? - WTS CDs.

I checked with a source at Bethel a few days ago and was told that the 2001 CD won't be out until late in the year. So the most current one is still the 1999 edition, for now.

Yeah, the CD's have been coming out on pretty much an every-2-year basis, though the 2001 edition is late. But there are supposedly some changes coming in the operation of the program, which can only be an improvement. The WT Library is about the most difficult-to-use program of its type I've seen yet (for example, you have to "send" text to a word processor in order to print it - the WT program has no print function). Besides that, it's next to impossible to get it to run right. It crashes almost every time I use it.

Hmmmmm...now that I think of it, maybe they bugged it so it won't work right for apostates?

I wonder why there are problems with the WT CD software? Aren't there quite a few software programmers at Bethel? They have, or at least did have, IBM mainframes for their data processing. And, the Watchtower had its own computer research center when it was developing its text formatting and processing hardware/software. I do know the original WT CD used Visual Basic in some way. So, with all this computer experience, why the problem with the CD? --VM44

Maybe there aren't many highly qualified PC programmers who are willing to work for free in exchange for personal salvation.

If we had some MS-Access experts here, we could strip the databases off of the CD and run them through an full-featured database engine that works, then circulate our Aposta-CDs. But that would be wrong!

I have the ($50) 1995 CD, and it always crashes when it tries to search the 1973 Kingdom Ministries.

Don't forget, another reason it may take so long to put the years' literature on the CD, they have to read through it and decide what words to change or cut, to completely manipulate to cover their asses. You know, in case they decided to change their mind about something a couple months later.

When the order arrives, I will make a few copies and ship them out to you all. Then you all can also make a few and spread them.

My ETA on them is a few months though. I cannot order them right now.
