I couldn't believe this comment on another forum. A JW admits that he obeys the Watchtower and uses the bible to say that we should OBEY them or be struck dead!

Sometimes I wonder if they really hear what they are saying...no personal conscience whatsoever. My dad, PO of a rather large congregation on the West Coast admitted that he follows the rules and does what he is told to do, much like the military. Don't question, don't make suggestions, just follow orders from the high command. If someone he has studied with gets baptized and then makes a serious mistake, enough to be reproved or DF'd, he feels they have personally sinned against him not just God! Haven't gotten him to admit it but he would be one who would bring back stoning in a heartbeat - at least that's the way he talked when we were teenagers. When we were even slightly rebellious he would remind us of the scriptural practice in the Hebrew days of stoning disobedient children. Heartless....so sad.

That is indeed very sad mrs rocky2! Wow.
There are plenty of references in the publications to obeying the WTS being a sign of a "true Christian". Salvation is dependent on it. Elders are reminded of it at their Kingdom Ministry Schools.
So it should come as nothing unusual to hear a Dub vocalise it.
How very sad.

Mrs Rocky2, how awful that you were told about stoning as a child!!! JWs are truly blinded, but they defend the "organisation" to the death.
Ozzie, you are right, it is published a lot. However, most of the JWs that I know just don't admit that they OBEY the rules of the organisation. They say that they are following scripture, not men.
Here this man says he is following and obeying MEN. wow.

Dad said a lot of things raising us that connected back to some of the more brutal Hebrew customs. When my sister and I wanted to pierce our ears he said he would do it for us...with an awl, just the like they did to the slaves. I think I was 14 or 15 at the time. Pretty scarey stuff. But we survived and moved on and I did get my ears pierced, not with an awl. He's still not particularly pleasant, very regimented. So glad I live hundreds of miles away!
Of course he obeys the watchtower like the faithful slave that he is. It's all he's knows.
