My sincere apologies if this has been shown before.

In the event that it hasn't, this is part of the "Living Will" that UK JW's are filing with the Hospital liason committees. Much of the will deals with whether or not the will writer wishes to have his/her life prolonged artificially, however this first page deals with the blood issue.

Isn't that the one that came out, then was recalled? The reference to allogeneic blood seemed to be a winding back of the blood doctrine, but speculation is that the conservative forces in Bethel didn't like it and recalled the card. The insiders see this as further evidence of the factional war between the hard-liners and moderates at Bethel.

I suppose it has been updated but there were such documents available when I was active in the later 90's . I had one. I withdrew it from my doctors records(where it has to be kept) after I stopped witnessing . The major points are mandatory but there is space for a lot of personal choice in the acceptance of fractions and life sustaining treatment

We had to fill one of these out for Hubby (JW) and it is dated 01/01. A Durable Power of Attorney for health care.So it was pinted last year. It is VERY confusing to a lot of the JW's so they just mark None!. They aren't up on what the witnesses are ALLOWED to take! I knew more than they did!.

We had to call a member of the Laison committee to get them to explain it. I already had the info by the time he called back! Then I had to try and explain it to my JW Mother in law and hubby! Wouldn't you think thy would know all about the blood issue before they made up their minds to believe what the WTBTS says?Really shows they are following blind!

We had a lawyer tell us that it wasn't worth the paper it was wrote on. But hubby insisted. We also had a living will made out for each of us since he got sick. Basically says the same thing.

We had one Dr that we told he was a JW and wouldn't take blood. Then right before he was to have a Porta cath put in his chest ...the Dr came in and said..We are going to have to give you some Blood plasma..you aren't clotting good! I said No you won't...He's a JW. No Blood. Hubby and his JW Mom about had a heart attack! They couldn't believe the Dr didn't even look at his whole chart! So no operation. We did end up getting some Drs names from the laison committe. He goes to hm now. e decided that hubby didn't even need the porta cath!

I feel sorry for anyone that doesn't have relaives or friends looking out for them in hospitals!

Well hubby and We did have to get the JW papers notarized and had to have several copies. Some for all Doctors..one for the Hospital....a personal copy...one for the lawyer...One for the Kingdm Hall...and so on.

The funny thing is when we stopped by the assembly hall where they were working..no one had one. They had to call a few "Brothers" before they located one! So organized!

    Oh well...It's late and I am rambling..night!
