  calling the bible errant , because it gives pie as 3 ( measurement of copper basin) is not a good argument. 15 feet from overhanging rim to rim in I Kings 7:32 would give 47 feet in circumference, so: ( Byington version) gives 45' for that smaller circle. but that line would not hang around the slippery rim, but stretch easily around the narrower lower neck.---

  verse 27, "The sky, the sky of skies can not contain you (God)" He certainly was bigger than the ALL during the big bang creation and nobody can find him (t)here now.

  sacrifices that day, 22 k cattle, 122 000 sheep & goats = 144 000 killed, just to make a fit, a point later?

  week's, not weeks: one is already more than enough.

  Those large number of sacrifices always baffled me.

  A lot of work is involved in killing 144,000 cattle in one day. Even a modern slaughterhouse does 34,000 animals per day.

  I have read all the arguments that justify the "error" in 1 Kings in expressing Pi. I am not convinced because there are too many assumptions in the arguments, with no proof to back them up.

  Is there any proof that the Bible writer of Kings really did know the value of Pi ?

  If not, then the argument that this is another Bible error stands.

  When using a measuring line with one cubit graduation , measuring the same circle, would give you 31 1/2 cubits circumference for the 10 cubit diameter. a matter of record, no previous math education needed; but If you count only 30, it is either an oval, not the same circle or sloppy recording, a typical bible shortcoming.
