Has anyone ever started a section just for legal cases/ possible legal cases? Or how about naming all the corrupt/ horror story JWs you ever knew? Is it possible to get sued for telling your experiences and naming names - even if its not about criminal activity? I could really tell some good stories!

Well, you could start a list here, but be prepared for the consequences if they're false....(just a thought).

They're all true! I just wondered if there was any legal precedents/risks/or comments/ideas. Not only would it be a good resource for people who would otherwise never know the histories of sorted individuals, but a great way to vent ;-). Anyone?

    Hi Happy,

Wouldn't the stories be just as interesting if you withheld the names?

Anyway, I would certainly be interested in reading them!

The trouble with naming names is that they might become apostates someday. Surely you wouldn't want to name names, have them come here, see their name, and be stumbled by it, would you? What an unloving thing to have happen to our fellow apostates. They may slip back into the cult.

    Hmmm-

Dutchie: I'm afraid they may go no farther than that for many, just stories. If there is a name(s) then its possible to verify. On the internet its possible for anyone to print anything, including half-truths, complete fabrications, and Troll-ramblings. But thanks for the interest in the stories anyway ;-).

Swan: That's a possibility, but I believe the greater good generated from a database of dangerous and/or manipulative people would be worth it. Besides, if it's true, the person will have a chance to defend themselves properly. A swirling mass of stories that may never get clarity or answers or conformation seems less desirable. I can't quite see someone 'mooting' the WTS information here because of their own personal unethical behavior in the past. Someone might return to the cult because of their own bad behaviour? Those seem like seperate issues. But thanks for the comments Tammy!

This is really helping me clarify things. Any comments?

To quote Simon with regard to any allegations that would be considered criminal

As per one of my previous posts, this is dangerous ground and I cannot guarantee that any list like this will not be deleted as I cannot verify whether people named are convicted or not.

I have nothing against people posting a list of links to existing sites where information is available though.

There is nothing wrong with posting experiences/stories or things that you have heard about, but identifying would not be appropriate here.

Sorry I cant get this highlighter off now

Thanks for the info Angharad! I'll stick to non-criminal names on this site. Anybody else want to list their experiences and the real jerks connected to them here?
