Hi all, im new to this my mum and dad were jw's and ive read the bible for years and have never agreed with the thinking reguarding the socalled anointed for instance in

Isa 65:21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit [them]; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

Isa 65:22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree [are] the days of my people, and mine elect (or in the jw's bible Chosen ones) shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

Isa 65:23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they [are] the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

this is saying the chosen ones will live on earth and have offspring, enjoy the works of their hands ! it does not say the elect/chosen ones will goto heaven.

    your thoughts pls.

Who were the anointed jews that isa was talking about? Wasn't it the kings like david, solomon, saul, etc and priests who were anointed? On second thought, 'elect' is translated 'chosen ones' by other translations. Did not that apply to all jews, god's chosen people?

Also, are you a christian? If so, why are you quoting nonchristian verses?

His elect cry (sin, a cry for help) both by day (knowing better) and by night. Their sin will not come to no end (labour not in vain) - the Lord will heal them. And when it comes that they work in the vineyard it will be fruitful for them to do so, not for another instead. eg as someone who does evil which causes another to reflect and repent.
