Why being disfellowshipped from the Jehovah's Witnesses cult is a good thing

One of the many reasons are people are free to enhance their intellectual growth through pursuing education, something the WTS demeaned for very much of its existence. Education is a good thing for humanity for knowledge can and does help resolving some of the problems mankind has to endure. ... ie. new discoveries in health and medicine.

Once free from the oppressive resistants of the WTS and its leaders one can pursue a vocation in politics or let their children join the Boy Scouts or Girl Guides and yes organized politics can help humanity if its done right with empathic good will intent for the people, some of those established ideas that many of us now usefully enjoy and appreciate.

Another is the non restraint on who you can or should associate with on a social level.

As JWS you are always controlled onto who should be your closest friends and that is enforceably

influenced to be other JWS only.

The problem with high controlling cults like the JWS is that they take away ones own individual freedom to choose their own direction, instigating elements of fear and provocation for people to remain within the organization and strategically support it fully without questioning scrutiny.

Many people have lost their families due to simply pointing out the false information and doctrines that WTS. created to allure people to the organization in the first place.

Not to mention the thousands of people who faithfully obeyed the leaders of the organization concerning serious health issues and died as a result for not taking a blood transfusion, vaccination or organ transplant.

So what are some other things one can benefit from leaving or being Dfed from this encouragingly backward cult of inherent deception and corruption ???

To be fair you can do all that without being DFed if you're careful (and maybe a bit lucky).

The only reasons for being DFed that I can think of would be to separate yourself completely from association with a morally bankrupt organization, for a sense of closure and to eliminate pesky guilt-tripping and manipulative contact from cultists.

The reasons to leave in general, on the other hand, are vast and innumerable. You can live a life of integrity, intellectual honesty, and freedom. You can give and receive true unconditional love. You can have open discussions about religion and philosophy without being careful not to step across some doctrinal line. You can live on your own terms and learn to be happy (whatever that means for you) without unnecessary feelings of guilt, fear and obligation being constantly pushed upon you.

I see your point partially OneEyedJoe particularly concerning education but if one were to point the wrongly devised doctrines the WTS.. created, you best assured that that person would be DFed quickly.

Getting involved with outside secular interests such as politics or community sports will get you talked to by elders, in how doing so is wrong by the established guidelines by the WTS.

If a JW were to take a blood transfusion and openly state that its their opinion that the WTS's doctrine concerning BTs if false or wrong, that person too would be DFed ot DAed. You cant be too open about your discrepancies with the JWS's doctrines and not expect to be reprimanded, unlike some of the other religious institutions.

Essentially the JWS are watched over very carefully in their personal lives to see if they are acting accordingly to the dictates established by the WTS and its leaders.

I should stress that the emotional strain of losing relationships with family members is undenably hard and difficult, based upon each individuals circumstances.

But this can open up other possibilities to a persons advantage such as opening relationships that don't have religion structured or framed around them.

Once its realized why this shunning is taking place and being instigated by a devised damaging cult , it should influence yourself to leave and perhaps tell a story of what happened to yourself, there will always be someone there to listen with a empathic ear.

I see most young people not involved in religion now days anyways.

Religion in itself is losing ground in most modern civilizations and there is strong indication this will continue more so into the future.

For survivors who discover TTATT, being DF'd can be a blessing in disguise.

For those who lose family, financially, emotionally, it can be horrific.
