Hey Hey Hey Girl! Glad to see your post. I was wondering how the house-hunting went, and how you've been feeling. Those few WAY-TOO-SHORT days went by SO FAST, I'm still in a daze. I wish it could have lasted for an entire week at least! So true what you say about "apostates" being so much fun! What a blast! I had NO IDEA, either. (I dunno WHY, though... I mean, we are all just people, and since we were such great little dubs, why should we not also be great little apostos, eh???)
Hanging out with the girls Thursday and Friday nights (no slighting of TTBoy here!) was as much fun as a slumber party. I had one heck of a headache the next morning and was in a spacy-fog most of Friday at the March (so if I looked like a deer-in-headlights to anybody, that's why!) You could say I'm a "cheap drunk," since it doesn't take much to get a buzz....
I gotta tell ya, Jeannie, you are the most On The Ball/Multi-tasking lady! I was so impressed the way you had everything under control, and were so calmly organizing and directing all of us here and there, taking care of the shuttle arrangements, march permits, bullhorns, restaurant choice, hotel liaison, etc. etc. You sure made it EASY for the rest of us. All we had to do was stand there and you directed us. (That really helps when one is a tad hung-over AND a southern-ditz from Florida who knew nothing about NY!)
I read in Bill's report of the March that he was SO GLAD you had suggested the bullhorn, as he hadn't thought of the expressway being right there and all of the traffic noise. So thanks for being so "together" and for "thinking ahead."
Last night on the TV I saw an airline advertising cheapo flights to Allentown, PA, only $59. I thought -- Hey! Wonder if Jeannie is moving THERE???? Where's my credit card?? Re-pack my bags!!! I'm ready to leave here again!!!! LOL!
I'd invite EVERYBODY to come here to the beach, but I've got an itty-bitty apt., even my Mom doesn't like coming down from N.FL and staying over. She usually drives back in the same day. Wish I had a HUGE HOUSE for ALL o' YA! The best time to visit this area is after Labor Day and before February (when all the red necks start coming for the races, and then after that the bikers, and then the college kids for spring break = all of which increases the price of everything in this area).
Well, my new-found friend, I wish you a great week up there in the Queen of Queens, and hope to be talking to you real soon, and wipe those tears away, 'cuz It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over!
BIG HUG!!!
Love ya!
GRITS (a/k/a GAIL)
