Hey Hey Hey Girl! Glad to see your post. I was wondering how the house-hunting went, and how you've been feeling. Those few WAY-TOO-SHORT days went by SO FAST, I'm still in a daze. I wish it could have lasted for an entire week at least! So true what you say about "apostates" being so much fun! What a blast! I had NO IDEA, either. (I dunno WHY, though... I mean, we are all just people, and since we were such great little dubs, why should we not also be great little apostos, eh???)

Hanging out with the girls Thursday and Friday nights (no slighting of TTBoy here!) was as much fun as a slumber party. I had one heck of a headache the next morning and was in a spacy-fog most of Friday at the March (so if I looked like a deer-in-headlights to anybody, that's why!) You could say I'm a "cheap drunk," since it doesn't take much to get a buzz....

I gotta tell ya, Jeannie, you are the most On The Ball/Multi-tasking lady! I was so impressed the way you had everything under control, and were so calmly organizing and directing all of us here and there, taking care of the shuttle arrangements, march permits, bullhorns, restaurant choice, hotel liaison, etc. etc. You sure made it EASY for the rest of us. All we had to do was stand there and you directed us. (That really helps when one is a tad hung-over AND a southern-ditz from Florida who knew nothing about NY!)

I read in Bill's report of the March that he was SO GLAD you had suggested the bullhorn, as he hadn't thought of the expressway being right there and all of the traffic noise. So thanks for being so "together" and for "thinking ahead."

Last night on the TV I saw an airline advertising cheapo flights to Allentown, PA, only $59. I thought -- Hey! Wonder if Jeannie is moving THERE???? Where's my credit card?? Re-pack my bags!!! I'm ready to leave here again!!!! LOL!

I'd invite EVERYBODY to come here to the beach, but I've got an itty-bitty apt., even my Mom doesn't like coming down from N.FL and staying over. She usually drives back in the same day. Wish I had a HUGE HOUSE for ALL o' YA! The best time to visit this area is after Labor Day and before February (when all the red necks start coming for the races, and then after that the bikers, and then the college kids for spring break = all of which increases the price of everything in this area).

Well, my new-found friend, I wish you a great week up there in the Queen of Queens, and hope to be talking to you real soon, and wipe those tears away, 'cuz It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over!

    BIG HUG!!!
    Love ya!

Awww shucks! Thanks Jes! I was going to write the same thing to Prisca, but you beat me to it. LOL! When I peeped out in the hotel lobby that I was Grits, TTBoy and Jes let out a HOWL of surprise and laughter. TTBoy has a voice that carries far and wide, and a hearty laugh that will rattle the foundation! It was like, Hey, WOWOWOW! I didn't know the name of Grits would cause such brouhaha! (I should speak up more often!)

Well, I'm finally comin' out of the closet with my real name. I told the girls in NY I was gonna do that, especially since Jes, Laurie, Jeannie, Kelley, Erica, Cynthia, etc. all use their real names in their posts, so, like, whaaas my problem??? Why be a scaredy cat?

HI Jeannie! I answered your thread about the emoticons, and I'll stand in the rain anyday for ya, kid! You're my kind of gal (now don't everybody go taking that the WRONG way!) I'm also curious to hear more about the "whimp" which you began to speak of right before you left. It got me in the gut, 'cuz I know somebody like that, and wanted to hear more of your experience. Hmmmm..... So when's a good yakking time for you? Weekends?

    Talk at ya real soon!

    Hey GRITS,

I have a T-shirt that has Grits on the front of it. It's like this.........

    Grits

    Girls Raised In The South

My friend Mattie bought it for me. She said it suit me seeing I was born up north, but raised in the south.

Hey Lilacs! I didn't know they made tee's of Grits! Neato. Shortly before I signed up here back in May, my sis had told me the joke of G.R.I.T.S. (Girl Raised In The South), so when I joined, I thought, well, good enough! I'll just be Grits on this board ('sides, I like eatin' grits w/salt and butter, too!)

The other funny one my sis had told me was:
    B.I.T.C.H. =
    Babe
    In
    Total
    Control of
    Herself

(but figured I best not use that one).
