I have heard a lot of stories of how ex-witnesses are shunned by their witness relatives. I assume that if it were not for the watchtower rules, most anyone would not be shunned anymore, because our relatives love us. My question is, are there any who think they are shunned by relatives who don't really like you anyway, and are using the "watchtower rules" to justify it? I know that probably sounds weird, but I wonder about in my own circumstance.

Hi Musky,
I am sure this would be the perfect reason to use for those who do not like you anyway. They could justify their actions with no need to explain.
I think the dislike of a person would have to be pretty great for this to happen. Those who really like us do not like running into us anymore than we do them. Many witnesses often have a feeling of loyalty to Jehovah when they stand their ground and shun you
I hope you are not hurt to bad over your situation .....take care my friend

Am I shunned by my relatives because they don't like me anyway? NO.
We were pretty close before this wt bs got in the way. I am the youngest and my older siblings and some of their children would come to me for advice.
They also came to me for free assistance in auto problems etc.
Now I am a no good piece of crap in their eyes. Go figure.

I have relatives I do not care for, but I talk to them when I see them. the only relatives I shun are the JW's in the family. the reason I have done this is because I couldn't take the hot and cold behavior.

Definetly Not!!
My mother and I are really close. This is killing her that she cannot talk to me. She rings up in tears begging me to come back to the WT so I can be back in her family again.
Shunning is a cruel thing and should be done away with. WT are the only ones that really practice is.
