  Here's a little study I did during the days of interest:

  I believe that the impression given in the thread is misleading.

  The quotes may be authentic but they do not tell the full story of how the "anointed" view themselves.Granted, the Witnessess view is that worship goes to Jehovah,which gives a different view of Jesus than some other churches do. The scripture at Revelation 19. 7 -8. describes the heavenly marriage of the "Lamb" and the anointed are considered to be the bride.

  Exalted - yes , but definately subordinate. In all my time at meetings I never heard it implied that they were on a level with the Christ.

  We were taught (correctly, for a change) as JW's that the term "Christ" means "anointed one". Therefore, when the WT "anointed" use that term to refer to themselves, are they not making themselves into 'little Christs'? Most JW's never think of it in that way, but that's exactly what the term implies.

  But then again, Jesus also foretold that there would be false "anointed ones" who would deceive many! (Matthew 24:24, Mark 13:22)

  The Bible clearly states that the saints will 1) reign with Christ, 2) share Christ's nature 3) be glorified with Christ 4) be worshipped as Christ is worshipped.

  1) Rev. 20:4

  3) 2 Thess. 1:7

  4) Rev. 3:9

  But but.. your posts seems to forget that the saints will be immortals and sinless. Thus they can't be selfish, they are fully members on Christ and children of God. Just as the heavenly angels and Jesus, they simply can't sin. From a human wordly view you might call them God's robots, but in reality they are assimiliated with the Creator, in harmony and can not do what Adam did, "Death is swallowed up in victory" (1 Cor. 15:54). Some use the term "temples" of Jesus and the heavenly angels. They represent God, they can't sin.

  Neo & Blues, I am not saying they are not subject, they are saying it. I hadnt heard this said in the meetings either, but there are a lot of things they dont say in order to appear acceptable. They do not intend being subject (subordinate) to Christ. They consider themselves equal though Jesus is considered of higher rank. This is a doctrine that JWs need to investigate the roots of as those of "the anointed" believed that they were the complete Christ, not little christs but CHRIST in total. Jesus as the head they as the body made the complete whole, without them Jesus was not the complete thing

  The root is as follows:

  "enable students of the Lords word to see that the mystery of God is THE CHRIST, HEAD and BODY, that THE MESSIAH or MYSTERY CLASS is developed through the gospel ages, and that thereafter 'times of refreshing' shall come when the restitution blessings for mankind will be put into operation" The Watchtower, 1st November 1917

  Additionally:

  "They are to be members in particular of that great prophet and life giver CHRIST and will share in the work of life giving, restoring the dead and dying world to perfection, hence the term 'Everlasting Father' as well as every other title of the Head is to be shared by his joint heirs and co-workers." (Zion's Watchtower. Feb 1888, p.1007)

  They are the everlasting father and everything that Christ is, its not a matter of just interpreting what the word "Christ" ie "Anointed" means, its a matter of recognising a false christ, one that has replaced Jesus as the mediator or at least pushed him up a little on his seat and sat on it themselves, in the view above Jesus is a member just as they are. This would explain why they currently have no mediator for the great crowd since they themselves still secretly believe they are Christ and nothing more is needed than to recognise them for salvation.

  When Russell spoke of the 144,000 he did not simply refer to them as being sinners saved by grace because of Christ sacrifice but he actually referred to them as being sharers in Christ sacrifice! This is totally unacceptable since Christ is the Lamb that takes away the sin of the world. Not them

  In the appendix of Russell's booklet 'Tabernacle Shadows Of The Better Sacrifices' we are told:

  "The underlying teaching of this booklet is the share which the church has in the sin-offering of Christ." (Appendix. page 133 1899)

  Of course, you're right. They did teach that, and I suspect that if you asked one of the GB geezers whether this teaching was still acceptable, they might even acknowledge that is is in harmony with current teaching, although they don't express things quite that way anymore. But I think you would have a hard time conveying your point to the rank and file. It's a good issue to bring up if you know soneone is a real researcher, but as we know, most JW's are quite content to choke down whatever Mama feeds them.
