  Sometimes, a defector may not be able to substantiate
  accusations gathered from other sources. This may cause
  us to wonder about the credibility of the person who
  'came over to our side'.

  I have the greatest respect for Ray Franz - especially his
  honesty and intelligence. Among all the Governing Body,
  he was the only one that seemed to have a clear head about
  the Bible. If the organization had more good men like him,
  we would have an "association of brothers" today, not a
  legalistic cult without a conscience.

  If Ray Franz can't confirm some wild theories about the
  Governing Body, it's probably because they're baloney
  anyway! ( No, they aren't Freemasons - their meetings
  are even more boring than those at your Kingdom Hall)

  No, they aren't reptiloid aliens in disguise
  (would you really think that ETs could be so stupid?)

  As to child molesting and other scandals, if we sift
  out the improbable, what remains can be explained
  by the inner circle phenomena.

  You have a body of elders. Some elders are 'more
  equal than others' - they know 'what's really going
  on'.

  They are the 'inner circle' - and you, Brother Elder
  are naive. They won't let you know about the child
  molesting, the incidents of spiritism, the adulteries,
  the financial fraud or the lying.

  Why? Because they know "you would get upset about it"
  "You wouldn't understand" "You would only stir things up"

  This may apply to Ray Franz.

  YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  You make some strong points. But I think your streching on Ray's stance.

  In his books Ray makes very clear, that he would not reveal personal matter's as regards his fellow Gb members. It was not the forum he was presenting, nor his style imo.

  It is all conjecture to even intimate that he is hiding anything. As far as Iam concerned Ray has done more than his share in revealing the truth about the wtbs.

  As to the double standard on bodies of elders, you nailed it. There was always two or three elder's that considered themselves above the fray, and could do pretty much like they pleased. Kinda of cliques within cliques. If you were in the inner circle, you got all the dirt, if not, you were a lame duck.

  Good points made. I witnessed what you're talking about with BOE's, you definitely had the 'wiseguy' insiders who knew the system and the naive newbies, who eventually became wiseguys or stepped down in disillusionment. Ray was definitely in the latter category in his GB experience. A secular parallel would be the naive yet achieving individual who climbs near the top of a corrupt corporation, only to discover the rot at the core, and blows the whistle.

  Although there are good, bored and boring elders, there are also those who are criminals due to hiding or doing pedophilia, the invasion of privacy and etc and go to criminal lengths to hide their evils and those abetted by Watchtower policies. The percentage of the darkness masked as "refining, disciplining in righteousness" has increased especially since the failed kingdom or New World Order prediction for 70 to 80 years after 1914 which means 1914 + 80 = 1994.

  They brought in a "kingdom" of cultism in which all too many of those "princes among men" (District, Circuit and local elder overseers and their cronies) have lorded it over the unsuspecting rank-and-file JWs who do not know about Watchtower's 10 year secret U.N. liason as a Non-Governmental Organization, the growth in pedophilia, the recent publicly spoken allegation of child molestation regarding Ted Jarasc of Watchtower Gov Body by Pat Garza, the documentation (see "Search" here above) of pedophilia and coverup by former Gov Body member Leo Greenlees (never disfellowship).

  What you say here, Met, is "right on." My example: for several years I was totally unaware of the homo-sexual history of a fellow elder. How did I finally learn of his involvement with this JW condemned practice? By a "worldly" person who described to me her opinion of one of our local leaders! So much for "having a ready answer to all who ask a reason for the hope within us."
