I saw another thread titled "Family Movies" and I thought it was going to be about home movies and videos... you know... kids running around, fathers, uncles drinking a beer while cooking in front of the BBQ pit, etc...

The other thread turned out to be about movies for families... Bambi, Snow White, etc...

I would like to start a thread about Family Movies... they kind made by a family showing the kids growing up and the families doing things together.

The last time my biological family allowed me to visit, it turned out to be an ambush. They pulled out the old movies and videos and we all watched them together. It was VERY obvious they were trying guilt and lonely me back into the bOrg. They wanted me to miss them so much that I would lie and tell the elders that I wanted back in Jehovah's "Loving" Organization.

Once I realized how they were making such a disgusting attempt to bring me back in the cult, it made be physically sick. I was disgusted they would stoop to such tactics like that. They wanted to use my childhood memories to bring me back into the cult.

Made me sick... makes me sick thinking about it.

Funny you should mention family movies actually I just blew the dust off of some old family movies...

Speech and Drama Performances. (Middle/High School--ohhh the acne and angst!!)

It helps to remember times when you, as a JW, shunned people and acted the same way.

That was you at one time. Me too.

Pretend to your family you don't know what to do about returning back. Then use the question method to introduce all the dirt you know about the WT. Be subtle. Do it gradually. Start off with chronology because it's simple and move on to, say, the blood issue and other things. It will scare the living hell out of them so bad they won't use the family movie tactic on you again. Either that or they will come out of the JWs.

Count yourself lucky Elsewhere. My sister and her husband used my 5yr old niece (whom I'm very close to) as emotional blackmail to go back to the meetings. Sick!!
