Who is the woman who recently wrote a book about the Society who was also one of their writers? I want to say her name was also Barbara...but not Barb Anderson. This book is recent. I know I read that she wrote articles and it struck me because we always believed it was only annointed men, in fact the GB, who were writing all those articles. I remember reading a review or part of her book where she mentions this.

    Thanks.

Edit: Im thinking now it was Barbara Grizzuti Harrison Im thinking of...but did she write for the Society while there? Im saddened to find out she died last April. :*(

Are you thinking of Barbara Harrison Grizzuti? She wrote her book some time ago, and passed away recently.

Diane Wilson wrote a book recently.

Barbara Grizzuti Harrison's book, Visions of Glory, is online at freeminds.org. It's out of print, but a great read. Well done.

Barbara G. Harrison was involved in proofreading info. In her book she mentions how brothers did not take kindly to corrections she would make.

It must be BGH...but it was sooo recently that I read this. I think maybe it was in an interview this person was having. I hate that my mind just BLENDS all this stuff together LOL! Do we know of any other women who wrote for the Society?

Maria Ackley Russell, Charles' wife and associate editor of the WT until 1896 I think.

The Bible Students did not clearly understand at that time what the Witnesses now know from the Bible regarding men as teachers in the congregation. (1 Cor. 14:33, 34; 1 Tim. 2:11, 12) As a result, Maria Russell had been associate editor of the Watch Tower and a regular contributor to its columns.
