Looking at the WTS web-site for current magazine articles, I was "struck" by how familiar they all sounded. It could easily be five, or even ten years ago, couldn't it?

As there's nothing new under the sun the Watchtower will have to either continue recycling or cut back on the frequency of the magazines. They really didn't expect to still be publishing in 2002 (soon to be 2003).

Benext: It's not like they haven't been recycling stuff for the past half a century anyway. NEW doctrines and things in the Society's literature these days are rarer than hen's teeth lately...
Yes, it appears as though one can stop reading for 10-20 years, and pick up again and not miss anything. In fact, read similar articles.
I always found the Awake to be more enjoyable to read, but really, when one thinks about it, some of the articles are way boring. They write articles on things no one really cares about. It just fills pages, and what is the point?
In fairness, the Awake! articles can be very good for school projects!
But that is not exactly "spiritual food" in "due season", is it?

I can't remember when I last saw a new thought in a WT publication. I looked at a couple of these just for the fun of it. The first thing I noticed was the writing style. I felt like I was reading an elementary school primer. They really have dumbed down. Since I live in Seattle I read the one on Olympic National Park. The line about this being a remote area cracked me up, two million people live about an hour and a half away from the place.
