Some of you may already know through my posts, that I work in the Prince William County Circuit Court. The Clerk was taking lunch, but called me to make me aware, that John Mohammad is being transferred to our facility, and is probably here as I write this.

It is no secret that our Prosecutors are tough, and have tried many a big case and gotten the dealth penalty. They want this guy to get the death penalty for sure, so they jointly selected our court, since one of the murders was committed here.

Fairfax, VA is going to try the boy as an adult, with the death penalty as well, for the murder in their jurisdiction. They have very strict Juvenile laws.

Gosh, and we thought we had problems parking when they tried the Bobbitt case. When the time comes, it will be a zoo here, with all the reporters and news equipment. I hate to think of it.

Hi Karen, looks like you guys will be in the limelight. I also work in a court environment, and we occasionally get a high-profile case, but nothing like what you guys are handling.

    Sentinel,
I'm in DC. I'm not envying the crowds you're gonna have down there. But I am glad to see them trying those guys somewhere that has a strong death penalty. I think some people were concerned about the feelings of people in Maryland where more people died. But I'm quite glad they're going to the place that has the most chance of convicting with the severest sentence. People elsewhere can have they're "closure" later or maybe by some miracle realize that a court trial conviction doesn't give you "closure."

Thanks Jack2, Maxwell, and El Kabong, for your reply posts. I posted the thread from work, which I don't do very often, but I wanted to see the replies when I got home tonight.

At least, my vacation begins tomorrow and I don't have to return to work until the first part of December! While off, we visiting relatives in Kentucky and Texas, and we've never been to either place. It will be good to have some change of pace for awhile. I am so glad I will not have to do the work thing for awhile, with all of this stuff going on.

They put the courthouse on High Security Lockdown today. This is serious stuff. Maxwell, I know what you mean about getting closure. Every day now, it seems they are linking more state to state random killings to them. These guys have been "getting away with murder" for a very long time.

But, it's like you say, putting the perpetrator to death does not truly give closure. The dead are gone and we can't bring them back. The fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, all of them. Anyone who has had this type of event affect their family need to get supportive help to work through all the emotional issues. Waiting and hoping for someone else to die as punnishment, and having them die, doesn't do that.

El Kabong, I've not even been to that restaurant myself yet. Glad you liked our little county.

I think when the courts find them guilty, they should allow the family of those slain to come in and make up a firing squad. Their aim probably won't be quite as good as his was, but oh well.

In fact, we already know he's guilty. Lets save time and money and just do it now. They could do a pay-per-view to help cover the costs of finding them.
