This solution provides oxygen-carrying capacity in exactly the same way that blood cells in hemoglobin do.

God I hope that was a typo or that's the most stupid doctor on the planet.

This development should make me happy but it pisses me off no end.

THIS IS BLOOD; it ain't red blood cells per se, but it IS BLOOD.

All the org will jump up and down and feel vindicated, but in fact this solution could not have been used just a few years ago, as they did NOT allow hemoglobin at all.

Now that they can "fractionate" it down even further, the boys from Crooklyn will surmise that since the bible does not deal with blood fractions, that some christians' conscience will allow it.

Never mind that the source for this fraction is BLOOD.

Like the man in the movie says, I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!!!

I'm sure this will be appearing in Watching the World shortly. Yes another loophole has opened up.

New years 1971, Delores was in her last stage fight against leukemia. Earlier the doctors had begged her to take chemo treatment and blood medical support she refused and when the doctors called me at my job and tried to reason with me, to ask me to influence her to let them treat her, I refused as well. They said a bone marrow transplant offered her a 50% chance at recovery.

On the sofa in our home she lay dying. Her hemoglobin was dropping and she was gasping for air, her heart was racing. Finally she looked up to me and said, "Help me breathe". I called the ambulance. The attendants gave her oxygen and took her to the hospital. It was a cold night. The snow crunched beneath the tires. I followed her to the hospital in my car, for what I knew would be the last time.

That weekend her father and stepmother, her sister and her husband, and her brother and his wife all came to visit. A month earlier I had asked them all to help us, to come and stay with her at home a few hours a day so I could go to work, we were totally out of money, they all said no. They were all pioneering and had to get in their hours.

In the hospital she fought for two weeks. She was in terrible pain from the lack of oxygen. Her biggest pain was her teeth. She wanted to experience every available minute of life so she refused pain killers. I stayed by her side. It was a terrible thing. I had no idea a human could endure so much pain and live. January 12, she died. It was a Tuesday.

She is buried up the road on a hill. I pass by every day on the road to town. A few years ago the Jehovah's Witnesses built a new Kingdom Hall across the road from the cemetery. A beautiful new brick building with a parsonage attached, a paved parking lot and manicured shrubs on a green lawn, all built in 3 days, even made the papers.

    Gerry,

Your account is very sad. While the Watchtower talks coldly about numbers and "loyalty", your personal experience shows the human side of how their policy hurts real people. Keep telling your story, we all need to remember.
