Convincing Old Friends/Love

Some of you may wonder how to get your old Witness
friends thinking about how the organization has gone astray.

    Love might be a beginning.

Jesus said "by this all will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love among yourselves." John 13:35

He did not identify his true followers by doctrines about the
soul or the name Jehovah - just love.

Without that love, congregations become unidentifiable,
indistinguishable from any one else. Events in Nazi Germany
or war torn Africa show great obedience - but not necessarily
    love , in the organization.

Frankly, most Witness congregations I know show little
love - often less than other churches or even people at
one's place of work. The Society is becoming well aware
of this problem, which is why they de-emphasize this
scripture in recent years (compare with the Truth book where
it is listed as number one/first).

Perhaps such a 'non-doctrinal' approach to the heart will
    benefit your friends.

I agree. For a long time I have tried the same thing with my family and it has worked, almost to completion...just one more person left, and then we can celebrate Christmas as a family.

    Howdy met,

Especially in the last year, what is emphasized is strict "obedience to Jehovah and His earthly Organization." Yeah, I've seen some "show Christian love" within the congregation......but the obedience factor is much stronger.

    Embarrassingly stronger.

I have tried to use this reasoning with JW's. It does not work. They truly think that they are the most loving people/religion on earth.

Metatron, I don't think any JW can be convinced that thier Organization is going astray. The Society covers all the bases to keep them brainwashed. They would give you an answer. Why? because they have the answer for everything. The Society, being well aware of this problem has already cooked up an explanation. They will just say this is a fulfillment of prophecy because "the love of the greater number will cool off". When I used to pioneer and get annoyed at the lack of love within the congregation the other more "mature" pioneers would explain it away with that scripture. You can't win when they are programmed to "stop think" with what the FDS feeds them.

If the love of the greater number cools off, then they have a LACK OF LOVE PROBLEM
in the organization! This recent coloquial quotation of this text in Matt. proves
    they have a problem!
