While I have a lot to do, some Watchtower deceptions are so galling, I am compelled
to report them herein.
The Dec. 2002 KM has a full page article called "Do You Contribute To An Accurate Report?"
The introduction begins with a blatant lie to deceive simple-minded Witnesses.
"At Pentecost 33CE, about 3000 were baptized, and shortly thereafter the number of
believers grew to some 5000 (Acts 2:41; 4:4) It is evident from these accounts that
God's ancient servants put forth much effort to compile a complete and accurate
record."
READ THE SCRIPTURES FOR YOURSELF! These examples were little more than 'crowd
estimates'. The early Christians rounded off their count in both cases to THREE
ZEROS! Other accounts in the Bible that offer numbers ending in zero are likely
just approximations, also. 'God's ancient servants' weren't interested in statistics,
unlike the number-worshipping Pharisees at the Watchtower!
In addition, the KM offers some counsel on what book study conductors should do to
to coerce attenders into reporting field service time:
"A word of encouragment, a practical suggestion, or an invitation to accompany him
in the field service is often all that's needed."
and
"If any are forgetful about reporting their activity, he can provide appropriate reminders
and encouragement."
How much imagination does it take to realize that countless Witness will report time
just to avoid being hassled? Isn't it reasonable to expect that conversations will
take place like "C'mon sister, you MUST HAVE put in SOME time, this month!".
I see NOTHING in this article that counsels publishers about TRUTHFULLY CLAIMING
REAL HOURS SPENT IN A MINISTRY.
A superficial reading of the Society's statistics will quickly tell you that their
'preaching work' is a remarkably unproductive activity. 'Puffing up' the numbers
with cut-rate pioneers (who used to put in 90 hours) and 15 minute publishers is hardly
the work of men worried about ACCURACY!- but this is how YOU ENGINEER 'INCREASES'!
You and I both know how 'accurate' this field service is - from years of counting time
getting warm in the van, knocking on doors and finding nobody home, and driving from
one end of a county , selling magazines, to another to score a couple hours!
The elderly hypocrites who compile these often meaningless numbers know all about
real accuracy - just take a look at their 'regulations' about handling congregation
accounts in recent years - how carefully they double count money in the presence of two
two brothers, fill out duplicate receipts, and so on.
If MONEY is the subject, instead of their faked 'preaching work', SUDDENLY REAL
ACCURACY becomes a concern.
There is much more that can be said about their statistics - and their credibility.
Suffice to say, there is no truth to be found in accurately counting numbers
that are often fake, in themselves.
.... but, of course, the Society likes it that way!
