So, Jesus sits down one day and tells his disciples that he is going to return, and he compares it to a bridegroom coming home to ten virgins - five foolish and five discreet.
Notwithstanding the difficulties inherent in finding ten virgins, not to mention the incredible question of what the hell a newly wed bridegroom needs ten of them for - what does this prophetic parable mean?
They all fell asleep. What distinguished the two groups was that one of them had extra oil. The others ran out of oil before the bridegroom got there. So I speculate that there will be about half of the existing christian churches still remaining when the Son of Man arrives. The others will have run out of holy spirit, or truth, or credibility, or whatever it takes to run a church.
