No matter where we are in our lives, we sometimes feel that we're alone. There's nothing worse than feeling alone among a group of people. If you are currently a JW, thinking about joining...thinking about leaving, or trying to recover loss. This is the place to be.
The best therapy is to be around people who think and feel just like you do. Just to know that someone else in this world has had the same thoughts, experiences or pain that you have, means all the difference.
If you need a place to vent, a shoulder to cry on, or a friend to laugh with...
we're here.

Well it got me out of the woodwork! I lurked H20 in the early days and lurked here on and off ever since jwd was advertised on H20 when it announced it (h20) was going to close.

I agree. I had my jw sister visiting last weekend and while checking her icq and mail, I put the board up and decided to check what was happening. She had a look at some of the topics and wanted to see everyone's pictures, she eventually started reading some of the threads and had a wee chuckle to herself over some of the comments. But overall, her standoffish attitude relaxed and she found it wasn't as bad as she'd expected an "apostate" board to be like.
There are other ex-jw discussion boards out there, but this is the only one that I feel comfortable enough to show my sister. Not only is the climate here moderated, but the administrators keep it that way. Its a progressive and gentle way to introduce JW lurkers to the truth about the troof.

This board can be the best thing that you can get involved with, as long as you know what happens here. On the very positive side, you can understand WHY people feel the way they do about the Witnesses.This can help you to see that you are not alone. On the slightly negative side, you will see that not everyone will like you or necessarily agree with you. But that's the way real life is! Once again, thank you Simon for making this all available and thank you posters for making this place anything but dull!!

Yes, it's all the posters that make it the place it is.
We just keep things from going to extremes and remove 'undesirables'.
