Sex treatment programme order for man

SENIOR Jehovah's Witness John Pickrell is to undergo a sex offenders treatment programme.

Pickrell, 48, of Cedarcroft Road, Ipswich, was ordered to undergo treatment by a judge at Ipswich Crown Court.

His Honour Judge Nicholas Beddard also ordered the senior religious figure to serve three years community rehabilitation.

Pickrell had been convicted of two counts of indecent assault in an earlier hearing at the court.

Both offences were carried out on young girls about 20 years ago.

Character witnesses from the Jehovah's Witness community spoke in glowing terms of Pickrell's good character.

They described his as an affectionate man who would greet friends with hugs and kisses.

Pickrell claimed one of the offences stemmed from just such a display of friendship.

He admitted kissing one of the victims on the lips and tickling her bottom, but claimed it was entirely innocent.

Sorry, but if you do that to a woman at work - even in fun - it's called "sexual harassment". Why should he or any other guy be able to do it to someone else's daughter without her permission? Seriously, if some guy came up to me and did that, I'd want to punch him right between the eyes.

Don't ever be sorry. Men need to learn that girls & women are NOT sex objects. It's interesting to think that a "JW" is obliged to keep his hands to himself at work (cause he's afraid of a sexual harrassment law suit) yet at the K-dub Hall he has free RANGE. Gross.

Is he still an elder ?

Isn't he one that the congregation as supposed to look up to and respect.

Isn't he a "glorious one"

Why didn't he tell the judge that he was a Glorious one !

We are all imperfect, so it has to be Satan's fault !!

Isn't the congregation just as guilty by sticking up for him, and what about the rest of the elders, if he had not been one of the team, how would he have been treated ???

The sicko that raped my niece had an army of good little JW's go in to court and testify how great he was! How that must have made her feel! That was several years ago ....wonder how many more little girls he has raped?? Such a loving organisation....if I ever see his ugly face i will beat him to......
