Do you remember when the magazines first came out in full color? Wow, everyone was soooo excited.

I remember a family in the hall that had two kids back at bethel, and they got a sneak copy. They had a get-together at their home, and it was passed around. People were so careful with it, as if it would break.

Apparently, this was going to cause more people to get baptized, now that we were more with the times and bringing full color magazines.

Afterwards, it was hung on the wall behind framed glass.

The colour didn't improve the writing.

I remember getting several special editions in colour shortly before they all went full colour. I even remember the theme, it was about the declaration of peace and security and one had a picture of someone beating a sword into plough shear outside the UN.

    LOL@Michael!

Yes, I remember very well. It was one of the big thrills of my Decade With The Dubs (no joke). I was standing with the C.O.W. and she showed it to me (I'm thinking the mag was the one with the face of Jesus on the front -- the "modern looking" Jesus with the short, somewhat curly hair, with the colored cloak hanging over his shoulder, with his hand outstretched-???). I gasped in delight as she showed me, exclaiming, "WOW! FOUR COLOR PRINTING!!!" She smiled and said, "You obviously know something about printing..." I said, yes, I had worked at a newspaper previously. I just went on and on and on, drooling with delight, also feeling "privileged" she had shown me the preview of what was to come. (Yes, I was a suck-up to the CO/DO's... always tried to "adopt them" like parents since I had no family in the JWs. Did my best to hang out with them at every opportunity -- in service, that is, during the week... hey, hardly anybody else ever went out in service during the week, so I usually got them practically all to myself). -- Anyway, what YEAR was that when those 4-color mags came out?

Amazing the things you guys remember and starts threads about...
