We all share a common experience, no matter how diverse. Thats something thats important to a lot of us.

JH, glad you are enjoying it. There are indeed some great people on this board but try not to take it too seriously as there's always someone out to tear down. There's one born every minute.
However I wouldn't be spending this much time on this site if I wasn't getting something good from it.

I agree with Ballistic. Don't take this place too seriously, else you'll get hurt when someone treads on your toes. Occasionally there will be personality clashes, due to the diverse variety of backgrounds and personalities of the posters here.
But overall, it is a place of fun and support.
There are about a dozen people here that I regard as close friends, yet I will probably never get to meet them, due to the vast distance between us. I have had the opportunity to meet several Aussie posters, and some of them have become close friends, people I wouldn't have met if it wasn't for this board. I think it is natural that those we meet in person are those who will become closer friends than those whom we reach only via the keyboard.

do you feel as close to people on this forum, as to people you knew in your congregation?
No.....but I do like many here. We were very close in the town I was from in a small hall. We did many things together for many years. They were like family to me.
I think it is as Prisca says.....meeting someone in person is a nicer way to get to know someone. I like yourself, however, really enjoy it here and am glad we have this avenew. It would be a much lonelier world for me without this forum.
