  You know - being just a newbie here I have to say that even though many of you have been mentally put off balance (just like me!!) that you all sound really nice and I want to be a part of this so much - it blows my mind....

  One thing that I found very hard to deal with was the abuse that my two sisters went through at the hand of my Uncle a JW. The family covered it up and that man is still serving in another congregation - every time I see him with young children around him I feel sick.....I think he should have been removed! Disfellow-shipped!!

  It really wrecked my family life....

  When it was brought up - years later he denied everything!

  You think he should have been disfellowshipped? Are you sure you're not being too harsh? If he did what you say he did, he should be dead. But short of that, a serious stint in prison and spending the rest of his life on a Sex Offenders' list is a place to start.

  I'm sorry about your family's problem with a child molester - many of them operate within families. Many of us have had the same problem, however. If you do a search, you'll find many threads about this huge problem among jw's.

  If you look down to the bottom of this page, you'll find a click over to the Silentlambs website, with more info. Perhaps your sisters would appreciate knowing they're not alone in being victims of this crime? We gain strength from each other.

  There are many victims/survivors here - and some of us (including me) are "Jehovah's Witnesses in good standing." (30 yr female, inactive for 3 yrs.)
