Since we are on that subject....

I've visited a church a few weeks ago, and I heard a song that had the exactly same melody as one of the Kingdom melodies!!!! I was always told that every song in the song book was composed by various jws. Has anyone noticed this??? I'm sure the jws are going to say that "the Christandom" *stole* their melody. Hmmm.....but I heard another melody from radio, that has the same beginning phrase and chord progression. That one was composed more than 100 years ago(before T. Russell).

I thought the 1984 version of the songbook ("Sing Praises to Jehovah") was supposed to eliminate all melodies that the JW's "borrowed" [rolls eyes] from outside sources including Christendom. (That's what Governing Body member Daniel Sydlik said on stage during the 1983 St. Paul, Minnesota District Convention). But maybe I was misinformed [rolls eyes again].

Do you know which Kingdom song sounds like the one you heard in the church?

It was, but they said the same thing when the previous songbook came out in 1966.

Something smells aweful funny. My wife just swore to me last Sunday the song we sang in church was the same melody as a JW song. But i cant remember wich one it was.

Have you ever heard "Great is thy faithfulness" by William M. Runyan?
