However, it may be that they are trying to find Jackson and see if he will come in to assist. It has been said on a WT friendly news site, that Jackson has declined. I don't know what this means in terms of what the RC will decide to do.

They do feel deceived by the society and they are aware that they have been misled in regard to the importance of the GB.

His Honour is warning that they will return in two years..........WT lawyer laughs a bit.........and His Honour says.........We will, don't you worry about that....

WT lawyer says no more. Probably thinking that Armageddon will have come by then........

This will only serve to have the commission impose heavier sanctions on the Watchtower! Why are the governing body continually wriggling out of appearing before a public hearing? is it because the lies will be exposed for everyone to see!

This is proving that this so called only true religion is actually nothing but lies!

It says at the end of this article that the hearing has adjourned until Friday.

No it's over for the time being. (Save for the possible appearance of GJ)

You probably were thinking of when Justice McClellan on Wednesday July 29th adjourned until Friday July 31st.

I'll miss it. But then again I need to wash the car and do some chores.

I can guarantee you that the tightening noose will bring about some "Holy Spirit" inspired epiphanies which will result in some policy changes, regardless of Jackson's appearance....

Maybe 20 years ago, yeah, because they could much more easily keep a lid on it, but I think a strong argument could be made that the situation is fundamentally different, now.

We live in the Information Age, and the XJW community (and the media*) are doing their damnedest to make sure the whole world hears about this.

And if the WTS changes policies because of it - i.e. capitulates to pressure from "apostates" and "Satan's System" - you can also be sure that the XJW community will do their damnedest to make sure the whole world hears about that, too.

Authoritarian ideology-based regimes are loathe to be seen submitting to the demands of their opponents; they'd rather burn to the ground.

*Because despite the fact that the WTS are small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, the problem of institutionalized child abuse should matter to everybody.

I would add that those regimes are fundamentally incapable of anything but burning themselves to the ground in the long run. It is inherent to the design.

If there are changes made, the JWs will just explain it as Jehovah cleansing his organization and be even happier and more convinced that they are his people. Never mind it was victims and former members (apostates) who actually brought all of this about to the authority's attention.

As I said before, we won't let them forget.

Everybody will know (whether they admit it or not) that it was secular authorities and XJWs who did this.
