To The Field! Umm, Maybe Not..

Even after all these years away from dubbism, I still get a buzz each Sunday morning when I awake and think "NO FIELD SERVICE EVER AGAIN!"

I appreciate that it's now called something along the lines of "Engaging in the Ministry" or similar, back then we simply "Went on the work". God, how I loathed it.

So tomorrow, instead of door-bashing and meeting attending, I will do what I want to do. I'll buy The Times, attempt the crossword, go and see the new James Bond film after doing some Christmas shopping at Cribbs Causway, come home, watch a bit of telly and finish off with a pint or three down the pub.

Now that, IMHO, is how Sundays should be spent!

So how do you spend your Sundays now that field service and meeting attendance are no longer required?

I sleep in and then go out for breakfast, go to the library, clean house a little, fix a nice dinner and then watch the Simpsons.

Life is good. Sundays are the best.

    Love,

I love pottering about on Sundays. I like to take my time cooking, no set meal-times is great for me. I sometimes open a nice bottle of wine. I take it easy on a Sunday and take everything in my stride.

Ok, do you ever go to church?

Hebrews 10:24-25 " And let us consider how how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together , as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another all the more, as we see the day approaching."

So... I'd encourage you to go to church, God commands it. bye

oh man, i couldn't stand field svc.what kills me now is to believe that i actually made allowed myself to be forced to do something that i really could not stand. i will never miss it. EVER!!!!

i do however go to church on sundays and i attend wedn night prayer meetings at my local baptist church because I WANT TO not because i had better or else.

what a joy it was to be baptized at my church without having to go through the mandatory, mundane two book study and the required field svc. and oh yeah, let us not forget about that list of over 100 questions and bible quotes that you had to have down pact.

    AMEN
