I just bought a SHARP Compact Digital ViewCam, and I cant get it to transfer the pictures onto my computer. I am not too computer savy, so that is part of the problem. I've gone over and over the manual, but I still can't get it to transfer! I attached the USB cable from the camera to my PC....and nothing happens. I did install the USB driver with the CD that came with the camera, so that isn't it.

Does anyone have a clue? I was so excited too, thinking that I finally get to share some pictures with all of you. Now I'm sad.

I appreciate any suggestions you want to throw at me. Thanks!

Diamond, with my Digi cam, I have to click on the "My Computer" icon on my desktop and then the "removable disk" icon that appears. Also, make sure you turn the camera on, after hooking up the USB cable.

Do not disconnect the cable until after you stop the USB from running. I get a symbol on my tool bar that I click on and allows me to shut it down before removing the cable. Then, once stopped, it is safe to remove the cable and shut off the camera.

There sould be a booklet with the camera that explains loading pictures. I hope this helps. I look forward to seeing your pics.

You have to find a place where it says UNLOAD CAMERA. You must have a new icon on your desktop. Click on it to unload your camera. Your camera must be on and in position PC to be able to download pictures to your hard disc. Like below

    Is your battery still good?

Go to Start > Programs and find your camera software. Load it. And then find what JH was talking about.

Does this software have a manual? Can you scan the first page of download instructions and post them here?

LD, I've got a Hewlett Packard digital camera and ran into the same problem. In fact I still do and have yet to find any solution. Here's what I do: plug in the usb cable to the camera and pc and turn the camera on (in this case flip the switch down to "pc"), the pc gives a tone recognizing that something has been plugged in but nothing else happens, turn the camera off then back on again, after a few times the pc finally responds the way it's supposed to and loads the pictures from the camera.

Thanks all of you!! I'm going to try what Bendrr suggested...that sucks! It's brand new and it should be doing strange things, right? It does have a manual, but it is very vague. I'll figure it out...I usually do. I'm sure the information you all gave me will help. Again, thanks!
