Update: door to door visitors

A few weeks back a number of you advised me on how to talk with JWs who were coming to my door, obviously hoping to engage me in a study. I have no new news, but those who were concerned that I might join their numbers will be glad to know that I haven't. I have had lots of time to study up (books at home and y'all's posts) so when they actually come by at a time where I'm not bathing a child/taking one to school/ on my way somewhere, I can probably talk with some degree of intelligence.

Still wondering, though, don't these people know how to call ahead? Even half an hour? [8>] YOu think they would if they were serious about "studying." (They have my number) Or maybe, just speculation on my part, just stopping by my home is enough to get the approval of those in their car? (I have this thought only after having read your posts about lives as witnesses!)

If they called a head- you might say dont come,They have to count time -so even if you dont take them in they count time from the time they leave home until they get back home. I used to call a head once I had started the study...... But I had to make sure I had "caught " a live one.

Makes me wonder indeed. The Mormons when I was studying with them used to call ahead, but studying with the Mormons was much more emotional. The Mormons used more emotional contact with me than any dub Ive ever see. Maybe thats the difference. The "personal contact and emotionalism" approach. Or the Dry cool "rational" disattached dub approach. Both seem to work in their own way.

Call ahead? A JW wouldn't know how to do that...especially when they're out in the neighborhood door knocking and have a sudden urge to pee...my parent's house has become known as Urination Station.
