A JW talk about the Governing Body - what JWs are taught about the GB

  This is a youtube uploaded in 2009 that has a talk about the Governing Body given to JWs.

  The speaker tells the JWs that the GB takes such good responsible care of all of them.

  The speaker also speaks of a personal experience with Bro. Sidlick (?).

  Towards the end of the video, the speaker explains the circumstances of a shepherding call he was going to do with some brothers but he never reveals the details of what it was about. Obviously, it had to do with a "woman problem" because Bro. Sidlick tells him his research into his shepherding call was no good:

  "The brothers don't need this...just the way the women show up to work nowadays is sexual harrassment, you don't need to show the brothers this! Just the way they show up to work nowadays is sexual harrassment...!" (sic)

  So, the speaker threw all his research into the garbage. It was so simple - it was the woman's fault!

  This guy is a good public speaker, he is very good at being a complete fake. Pulling those heart strings "the GB care about each one of you". I can imagine people getting all emotional listening to this nonsense.

  Yes, the speaker's style is pretty slick. Hypnotic. An appeal to the emotions, for sure.

  He keeps emphasizing how the GB "are responsible for you". And, he uses the terms Governing Body and Faithful and Discete Slave interchangably.

  Any JW listening to this talk would come away with the idea that the GB are the ones in charge - regardless of whether that is true in practice - the message is what counts. It is the belief that the GB calls the shots that is important to the JWs themselves.

  And, the JWs are being told that the GB will look after them - that the GB will take responsibilty for each and every one of the JWs.

  Well, we shall see if that holds true or not after Jackson appears this week for the Royal Commission.

  No, but sometimes they stay past 5:00 pm sitting at a meeting and then go to another meeting afterward. The struggle is REAL.

  Kinda gives you that warm a fuzzy feeling all over doesn't it? 40 hours a week! Each and every week! They have law suits to settle and bills that people pay them! I can honestly say I don't know how they do it! Wow!!!
