'Asking' the questions they 'Give' you.....

    Was anyone else frustrated at the 'question' and 'answer' sessions where they tell you what to ask?

    I didn't realise the foolishness until pointed out to me by my sister, who gets a kick out of being told what question to ask after having read a prescribed paragraph.

    Hi Lisa, it's been a while since I've visited. It's nice to (sort of) hear from you.

    You know, I never thought about that before.

    They tell you what to read, see, think, wear, how to act, feel, and talk. I never even realized they went so far as to tell us what to ask regarding what they tell us to read.

    WTS= complete and total mind control machine.

    But, I don't understand.....isn't this the best way to learn the truth? After all, if one is allowed to randomly ask questions about the material, they might fall victim to the dreaded "independent thinking", which will then inexorably lead to (sharp intake of breath) APOSTATE thoughts, which will lead to death...yea verily. This is only a protection from the great Mother. (insert heavy sarcasm here)

    That is a very interesting point Red, but I dont really understand what you're trying to say. Perhaps you could give me a question to ask you, that way you can give me further light as to the benefit of your eloquently worded reply. ;)

    Appropriate questions are:

    Dear RHW, what would you like for a Christmas or birthday gift?

    OHMIGAWD, are you that gorgeous in person?

    How can I ever reach the level of intelligence that you so obviously display, RHW?

    Or, any other questions of a similar nature are appropriate.

    Con,

    It's nice to be back too. Been struggling with keeping up with work while having constant nausea and headache.

    Interestingly enough, my husband got the flu over the weekend and I had to take care of him (what a sight we were man). I told him, I've been feeling this way for 3 weeks I've just not been complaining about it. But you know men. One little whine and the world will know about it, LOL.

    Hi RHW!

    Back to the thread, once in a while a brave soul would ask a question of the Watchtower conductor. I don't ever remember that person being given an answer at that time; they were always told the elders would 'help' them after the meeting.

    I guess the term 'discussion' is a real misnomer, huh? There really isn't any discussion. RR may have more input on this.

    I had the "Watchtower Study" at a few circuit assemblies, which proved the "missing link" isn't missing after all. I don't know if they still put on these fake 30 minute question and answer sessions, but I'm sure the Tower did it to measure the critical-mass stupidity.

    1983 "Avoid Independent Thinking .. How is such independent thinking manifested? A common way is by questioning the counsel that is provided by God's visible organization." {WT Jan 15 1983 22}

    1984 "The Catholic Church occupies a very significant position in the world and claims to be the way of salvation for hundreds of millions of people. Any organization that assumes that position should be willing to submit to scrutiny and criticism." {AWAK Aug 22 1984 28}
