Everywhere I go at the moment, ...it's CHRISTMAS!

Constant "reminders" - The shops, the TV, the magazines, the newspapers...

Whilst you were still a JW, how did you manage to get through it all?

What thoughts went through your head whenever you saw or heard a "Pagan" thing at this time of year?

And how did (do) you reconcile it with your brothers and sisters?

Same question to all you JW "lurkers!"

I never did think of Christmas as pagan, even when a witness. I just figured, that sucks we don't get to do it.

I dreaded it, because I hated having to explain to people I worked with.

Also if they had a party or gave gifts to each other, they always excluded me because I asked them to, however it was still awkard.

And it sometimes I would just feel so sad when I heard Xmas music, looked at decorations or saw movies with xmas scenes. I really longed for the tradition and the happy time with your family.

you hit the nail on the head, its all about time with family, i agree thats what i missed the most, not all the pagan stuff, altho i miss the food and the social times, instead me and my kids spent 13 yrs all alone at christmas time, and beleive me the witnesses didnt compensate, theyd have their little clicky gatherings and we wernt invited, because i was a sole parent and not connected so to speak, and they didnt want kids around

in this org, there is no love, no caring, i was just a robot going to meetings, going to service on and on... what a waste....

    love to all
