In my research I came across this topic "Investigating the Society"which asked six questions, before you joined the society. I answered no to all of them.I'm interested in what your answers are if you care to express them.I posted my answers below.

Question #1:How did you investigate the Watchtower Society before you joined it?Did you read books both for and against the Society to help you judge it accurately?NO!

Question #2:Had you read the Bible in its entirety?NO!

Question #3:If the context of a verse is ignored, people can prove anything they wish from it.To prevent this problem, did you read the Bible passages found in the Watchtower publications in context to make sure they were applied accurately?NO!

Question #4:Were you well acquainted with the teachings of any Bible-believing,gospel-preaching church before you began to study with the witnesses?NO!

Question #5:What was the process that you used to test the Watchtower organization before you joined it?NONE!

Question #6:Have you ever checked the quotations the Society uses from other sources to see whether or not they are taken out of context?NO!

Its no wonder that I been stuck in this organization for over 30yrs.But NOW! I can answer YES! to these six questions. How about you?Blueblades

BTW.If they were to ask these six questions now instead of over 200, before they study with someone, I'm guessing nobody would join the Watchtower Society Organization.

Blueblades - I gave the same answers as you. I am really annoyed with myself now. I used to be so careful. I suppose what they said sounded so wonderful, I didn't think for one minute that the society could be lying.

Usually a person doesn't have to check all of these questions, because if he makes an error, then all he has to do is get out of that organization. But with the watchtower it's different, because you can't get out without scars.

I answered the same as well.

It was harder back then to research without the internet, but not impossible. It's hard to believe that all these things were missed.

But every memorial, there's one scripture read that stumps everyone.... can anyone guess which one it is?

    Nickey,

Is it the one where Jesus said "Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no sharing with me"? Even if that's not the one you're thinking of, that verse can be a bit of a head-scratcher.

NICKY,Is It( 1COR.11:26 )"For as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup,you keep proclaiming the death of the Lord until he arrives." The thought being if he arrived in 1914--1919 the memorial should be discontinued?

Okay, those stumped some as well. Including me.

But every memorial, they would read a scripture. (Rev 14:3) talking about the 144,000 annoited one's and why they can partake. But, he would never read the next scripture and everyone always did. Rev 14:4.

"These are the one's that did not defile themselves with women; in fact, they are virgins. These are the ones that keep following the Lamb no matter where he goes. These were bought from among mankind as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb." Rev 14:4

"And no falsehood was found in their mouths; they are without blemish." - Rev 14:5

My sister would always lean over and ask me how could it be. And my mother along with everyone else kept re-reading with a curious look on their faces.

The Watch Tower group is more of a gang than a religion.

Well Nickey, I don't know how this scripture can possibly apply to a group of people that have lied again and again. Funny, isn't it? I never understood it either.
