Here is a nice sample of some dub reasoning that may bring back some memories of how we thought at one time. This is taken from a post on a dub site discusion about "when the Tribulation will begin".....(Bold type is mine)
With our new understanding of "this generation" we know that all or some of us here may grow old and die in this system of things. When I was baptized 16 years ago, I was so sure I would be alive when the tribulation came. Now I have adjusted my viewpoint in line with keeping up with Jehovah's celestial chariot. The sister that studied with me gave the best advice:
"Don't worry about when it's coming, how it's coming. Just focus on making sure that you are always doing everything you can to be ready when it does come."
Shocking, surprising, scary, exciting, thrilling, seeing awesome evidence of Jehovah's mighty hand in action, then relief, deliverance, freedom........I can't wait!!!!!! In the meantime, I like you all want to do everything I possible can to help others to be there with us at that time. Each day that those winds continue to be held back, hundreds more are joining us. That's true.....then some like me, do it all again and get involved with Organised religion. I learned I was still an idiot when I did that and have to wonder when my next bout with idiocy will strike!
The scripture that is trawled out in these circumstances is this:
2 Peter 3:9:
"Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance."
This verse is manna from heaven for the Witness hierarchy faced with members who are looking at their calendars and doing the maths and wondering what is going on with God!

Actually he may gambling at the wrong casino. The longer he waits......the more dubs may fall away too. Then he will not only have to kill more worldly people.....but more once faithful dubs!!!
