I have recently been given the ultra uber super duper secret convention login details to watch it on the streaming page.

With those details came a huge dose of "don't tell anyone else!" "Apostates might get hold of it and twist it against us!"

I mean seriously? Is this likely? When you consider that the event itself is open to the public?

Why is it such a big secret! Also are the login details likely to be person specific so that they can tell whose watching? Or just general details?

Speaking as one of those "apostates", most of us have already heard the "highlights", why would we waste our time watching that mess stream?

    There's no logical reason.

The real reason is that it gives them a sense of importance and feeds the persecution complex by saying apostates are forever trying to attack them.

    It's control and nothing more.

Not even so much the "persecution complex", it feeds the "we are so-o-o-o-o special complex".

Not everyone is "entitled" to view the convention video, only the "deserving" are. So if you get approval, well, hey, you are "special", "approved", "an insider", you have access that other, less "spiritual", "weaker" people don't have.

It's a silly little ego boost for those who are "granted permission", as well as a bigger ego boost for those (the elders) who are the ones who are in the position to "grant permission".
