And elderly woman who lives across the street from me has had some hard economic times. Her adult son got injured and had to move back in with her due to his inability to work. They are struggling. I haul their trash off so they don'y have to pay for a service. Sometimes we and others help out with utilities, meals etc... The son, Kieth, and I have had several nice chats over the split rail fence.

Recently their car went on the fritz. Their little church down the road bought them a small used car that runs fairly well. I couldn't help but think about how individual JWs would have certainly pitched in in such a case... but the congregation as an entity would have NEVER done such a thing. Never!

    EVER!

Your neighbors are "true Christians" according to the WTBTS. Love is the identifying mark.

In my experience here in the UK, the Baptists are very genuine people and WILL help others....even those that are not of their faith.

The watchtower on the other hand are a hateful corporation.

Local used car salesman Elder would ask needy person to buy a lemon at great profit only to himself, then pass it off as "Charity" the Congregation and walk around claiming he's so "blessed" to be a "Prince among men, one of God's stars."

JW's would NEVER give someone a car, never! Not Pioneers, not Elders, no one! Even CO's who are "given" cars are given cars paid for by other JW's!

I do know of a similar case in our old circuit where a couple of brothers bought a car for a disadvantaged family. Interesting that it was not organized by the Cong or by the Elders and neither of the brothers who were so generous held any position in the Cong. In fact, I don't know if they are even active any longer.

In the congregation I was in we had a "sister" who was about 10 years into her MS (Multiple Sclerosis). She was now wheel chair bound and was becoming more dependent on care. The elders in our congregation were not caring and our congregation in general viewed this "sister" as an inconvenience. She eventually moved up north into a new congregation that took care of her till she died. The congregation I was raised in as a whole didn't do much but their was certain individuals that would help those in needs. I wonder how the average JW congregation is in the treatment of those in need?

4 years ago, my wife and I lost our jobs due to the bad economy. We were in a new state, no close family around and were struggling. The Jdubs that truly helped us with food, shelter and money were the ones considered spiritually weak. The low level publishers are usually the more sincere and loving. On a side note, out of all 8 elders at the time, only 1 brought us some food.
