Yet another control tactic

For the past few years (when I was going to meetings), a wicked little group of us always got a spiral bound notebook every year that contained all of the material for the Theocratic Ministry School. It was SO much easier than looking everything up and lugging around large books. Every year we heard grumbles from The Faithful (who lugged around the large books) that if the Society had wanted us to have something like that, THEY would have provided it. And one by one our sources were shut down by threats of legal action by Brooklyn because of copyright laws.

Well, my friends in England absolutely adore those notebooks and asked if I was getting any this year. I e-mailed a friend of mine (most of my Witness friends do NOT know I'm fading out), and here is her reply:

"As far as the spiral-bound ministry school (which made mtg. preparation so convenient), after the letter from the Society that was read sometime last summer (about copyright laws, etc.), I don't think anyone is going to be producing the books. [NAME DELETED] is the one who ordered ours, and I am quite sure she told me that they are having to discontinue making them. (I wonder if it also has to do with apostates posing as a book-binding manufacturer, and sneaking info in. That wasn't brought out in the talk I heard, but they could conceivably do that, could they?)"

Yep, that's what we all do as apostates: we look for ways to sneak evil things into Watchtower literature. Just thought you'd like to know! (Also, if any of you know of someone who still sneaks these things out please let me know. Thanks!) Now, if you'll excuse me I have to get back to my Evil Apostate Printing Press and crank out some more brainwashing material for The Faithful.

Same deal w/ the scripture programs years ago - we'd print the scriptures for a WT out on paper so they'd all be on one page. Turns out the 'society' didn't like that either. Same deal, some lame talk about needing to be able to locate scriptures in the bible, and that we needed to be reading them right from the bible - as if the words would be different or more 'special' coming from a WT printed bible. Whatever. I kept doing it anyway - just printed smaller and cut them into bible sized pages

Yeah, my sister had a nice notebook made last year by some brother. When I saw it, I said, hey that's handy, enjoy it while it lasts, cuz the wts is clamping down on that stuff. She found that hard to believe....then about two weeks later, she said, 'yes, you're right no more notebooks'. The congregation (and I do mean, like, the whole congregation - nearly everyone) I was in (one different than hers) had nice ones too in 2001, but none in 2002. Same reason.

Oh the Watchtower sneaks enough stupid crap in their literature all by themselves. Nothing ever needs to be added does it?

I've said it before and I'll said it again, it's all about control. WTBS gets their jollies by controlling every action and thought of millions of people. And if some little person somewhere is making binders, that means it's not in Brooklyn's control. Therefore it must be bad.

Funny thing is, it would actually assist them, if people stopped reading scriptures in context.
They may have shot themselves in the foot, with that one.
