A child can see that the god portrayed in the Bible is repulsive.
The same child standing in awe of the midnight sky is in love.
I made a decision not to long ago to no longer embrace a book that openly and continuously disparaged God.
The most important book to read is ourselves. Our own heart.

What a beautiful observation. One that I too, saw many years ago. It happened for me, when I went to a funeral (before becoming a JW) and I knew the man had a terrible reputation and was really not a nice person. Yet everyone found only the good in him at his funeral.
I thought then that the religions had it so wrong about "bad" people going to a burning hellfire. If mere man can see the good in all things, then I realized that god does too. And, that it is religion poluting everything. Too bad I was too young to see that JW's were just as wrong--even if they didn't believe in a burning hellfire, they believed in even worse things.

Yikes! What do they believe in that's worse than being tormented for eternity.........unless you mean preparing for a talk on the school!
