I was at local coffee shop, Poulsbohemian in Poulsbo, Wa (shameless plug), and they were playing this CD that was perfect. It was a blend of Jazz, Techno, and Folk. The CD is called Hed Kandi: Winter Chill . It is a double cd set of various artists. Originally it was import only from England (way to go Brits) but has been reproduced by an American manufacturer. I bought it and have listened to it everyday since. Don't you love going into coffee shops these days and hearing music you would have never given a chance to and really liking it?
Awesome CD

Agreed, fellow NWesterner.
I recently heard and subsequently purchased a Jazz interpretation of Bach's Goldberg Variations, by some French trio. It was wonderful, and I think Bach would have loved it. I can't get enough of it.

Hello. Sounds interesting. I've never heard of Hed Kandi (a group ?), but I always enjoy exploring new sounds and genres. I'm downloading a couple of cuts from Winmx as I type, although everything is "queued" right now. Might take a while. I'll let you know what I think.

It let me download it but stopped me as I tried to make my CD?
Can the format be changed?

My coworkers and I have often had discussions sparked by a song playing at the local Starbucks. We have varied musical tastes, but share many in common. We really get started if it's big band/torch songs or 30's/40's blues.

GSX,
If you like Hed Kandi and the downtempo/mushroom jazz type sound, try
DJ Mark Farina: Mushroom Jazz 2 (there are four in the series but 2 is the best)

Hi Breeze. In answer to your question------------I wish I knew the answer. I use winmx quite a bit and have never had the problem that you describe. It just always works. If a song is "queued" , it might take a while, even months, but I'll eventually get just about everything I search for. And then when I get enough stored in my music file, usually in 6 or 7 months, I'll get one of my boys to put it on a CD for me. My 2 boys are the computer geniuses--------they can tame any computer to do anything. It's kind of scarey. Anyway, I'll run your problem by them , and see if they have any ideas. I'll let you know.
Gsx-----------Thanks for the album suggestion. It took a day or so to hear back from Winmx, but I now have 2 tracks : le Piano Bar and Porcelain. They're both real good, and if the rest of the album is as good as these 2, I'll really enjoy it. I think I'll try to get a couple of others, and while I'm at it, look up MegaDude's suggestion on Mushroom jazz. I've never heard of that one either, but, who knows, I might like it. Thanks again.
