Jehovah's Witnesses to meet in Amarillo

    By DON MUNSCH
    [email protected]

Jehovah's Witnesses from a three-state region will attend a "Trust in Jehovah and Do Good" assembly at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Civic Center auditorium.

The assembly is open to the public. Admission is free. No collections will be taken.

Case Duggan, a Jehovah's Witness from Borger, said he expects around 1,500 people to attend.

An estimated 1,100 Jehovah's Witnesses from 19 congregations will attend from Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma, he said.

"We have visitors that do come," he said. "It's just not for Jehovah's Witnesses - it's for others that are interested in Bible subjects, as well."

Duggan said Jehovah's Witnesses have three local gatherings each year, with a large convention in the summer.

Duggan said this weekend's gathering focuses on Bible education, with symposiums on both days.

Duggan said Jehovah's Witnesses will learn "reminders of what we need to do to satisfy what God wants us to do, how we as parents ca be better parents, how children can be better children, how we can discharge our Christian responsibilities."

A public baptism will be held at events. Missionary Steve Konjevich will speak on "Deliverance From World Distress is Near" at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

I sent this email to the pressroom:

Thank yo for this news item. As for how the cult of The Watchtower Society will answer The issues Duggan raised:

"... Jehovah's Witnesses will learn "reminders of what we need to do to satisfy what God wants us to do,..."

SPEND MORE TIME KNOCKING ON DOORS.

"... how we as parents can be better parents,..."

SPEND MORE TIME KNOCKING ON DOORS.

"... how children can be better children,..."

SPEND MORE TIME KNOCKING ON DOORS.

"... how we can discharge our Christian responsibilities."

SPEND MORE TIME KNOCKING ON DOORS.

I was a JW for more than 20 years before I got tired of knocking on doors and telling people that the world was going to end any minute now.

I would expect little mention from the Watchtower of charity, because the Watchtower does not practice charity to non-JWs, who they view as undeserving and slated for destruction when the world ends any minute now. Ever since the second president of the Watchtower Society, "Judge" Joseph Franklin Rutherford, issued his instructions to JWs to "advertise, Advertise, ADVERTISE the King and His Kingdom," the JWs have taught that the answer to every question was to SPEND MORE TIME KNOCKING ON DOORS.

how we as parents ca be better parents, how children can be better children,

.....and how small green furry creatures from Alpha Centauri can be better small green furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.

I can just see the talk now: "children, as young persons are YOU reflecting the Godly quality of obedience? Are YOU ensuring that the things you say do not bring reproach upon Jehovah's Organisation? Certainly we wouldn't want to risk losing eternal life just for temporary relief from life's problems in this old system!"
