In case anyone missed the news, Radio Shack is no longer asking for customers' addresses and phone numbers at the checkout.

Customers tell us the practice of asking them for names and addresses is time consuming and annoying and is not something that endears them to us, said Leonard Roberts, chairman and chief executive officer of RadioShack Corporation.

I can't wait 'till the next time I stop in at the one across the street from work. Those guys hate me because I always refused to give them my info.

    Mike.

The last time I was in a Radiio Shack, I wnated to but some $2 connector or somesuch. The clerk asked me for my personal information. So I lightly waved my hand and I told him I was paying cash for this little item, and he didn't need my name (old Jedi trick). Fine with him. So he rang it up.

As I walked out, I noticed that I had the wrong item. So we had to go thru a return - this time he needed my name. Damn.
