It has been a long while since I partook of any XJW site, but this one seems pretty interesting, with loads of topics and interesting posts.
Anyways, I was a teenager in eastern Canada, New Brunswick to be specific. It was late 1976/77 that I attended meetings. The first congregation I ever attended was: Oromocto. A few years later, I moved into Fredericton (NB capital). That would have been late 1979 until 1982. The congregation name then was: Odell Park.
Eventually, I moved to northwestern New Brunswick, right along the Maine (USA) border. Attended meetings in Perth-Andover. I frequented meetings in Presque Isle, Maine as well. I was dating a young woman over there at the time.
In the summer of 1983, I decided to chance it, and move to Toronto. I attended the Lakeview congregation in Etobicoke. I remained there until I left 'officially' around May 1984.
I used to know people all over, and like many of you, had many close and dear friends, many of whom I have not seen since 1984. I have only met one person on-line (from Maine) that has left and is no longer a JW. His father is still an elder, but he is not going back. Good for him.
It'd be neat to speak with people who have had some connection to the places I have posted. It has been a long time, yes, but the impact of having been a JW, never leaves you.
Has anyone met or heard from anyone from long while ago? I'd be anxious to read their experience.
Thanks, Ray.
