I just wanted to alert folks in the viewing area of CBC to the show that they are airing tonight at 9pm on the topic of polygamist communities in Canada and the US.

I was watching to see if there was going to be a "trailer" for the JW-child abuse show in two weeks' time.

If you have a chance... watch The Fifth Estate tonight, and get an idea of how "our" issue is going to be addressed!

Damn, Scully, I saw this too late. And there wasn't anything else on worth watching so I turned off the TV.

Well, I have to say that quite upset with the attitude that the "grand poohbah" of Canadian polygamists has - it honestly reminded me of some of the haughty attitude we've seen from certain persons in high places who frequent a certain "ivory tower" structure in NY.

It made me furious how he arrogantly said to the reporter "Well, you understand the Constitution of Canada, and the Constitutionally protected right of free exercise of religion, don't you?" as a way of excusing the fact that he has TWENTY-SIX wives and umpteen children.

The show documented some girls at the age of 14 and 15 being married off to men in their 40s and 50s. One woman - a relative of the "grand poohbah" says that with so many women in the dwelling, someone is in charge of knowing when all the wives are ovulating, so that the husband can get them pregnant as often as possible - comparing it to animal husbandry. That made me sick to my stomach.

God, I hope that guy gets what's coming to him and they all get PMS at the same frikkin time!!!

    Love, Scully
